The intiative "z2Kryo-ET" introduces a revolutionary microfluidics platform for cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) that has the potential to transform structure-based drug development by enhancing the structural analysis of biomolecules. Cryo-electron tomography, an advanced form of cryo-electron microscopy, enables detailed imaging of cellular structures.

However, its strategic use in pharmaceutical drug development remains limited due to the complex sample preparation required. Our technology addresses this challenge by integrating microfluidics with a time-resolved freezing process, allowing for the efficient examination of live cells in their native state. The outcome is a positive resource balance, paving the way for new approaches in structural biology research and drug design.
