Sustainability in Research
Making science greener
As scientists, we worry about the impact that our research has in the environment. We have created the Sustainability Group at the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics as a way to monitor the energy consumption and waste generation throughout the institute, as well as to raise awareness about environmental issues related to our research.
The Sustainability Group is formed by members of the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics that, as volunteers, want to tackle environmental problems faced in everyday work-life, from different valuable points of view. We are part of the Max Planck Sustainability Network and have the support from our colleagues and the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics Sustainability Commission. We welcome all institute members to join us!
Get involved!
We meet on Wednesday every two weeks for an in-person lunch meeting. Contact us to get informed about our next lunch meeting! All colleagues are welcome! Bring your food and ideas!
Join our mailing list!
Even if you are not a Sustainability Group member, make sure to join our mailing list to get updates of our group and the Max Planck Sustainability Networks news: green.news@biophys.mpg.de. Ask the central IT to include you in the list.
