PhD StudentResearch group “Bonnie Murphy: Redox and Metalloproteins”
I started my PhD in Bonnie Murphy’s research group in early 2020. Before that, I studied chemistry at the University of Marburg, where I initially came into contact with structural biology techniques. Fascinated by the potential of single-particle cryo-EM, I decided to conduct the research for my master’s thesis in the group of Werner Kühlbrandt at the MPI of Biophysics, where Bonnie was already my primary supervisor.
During my PhD, I focus on the biochemical and structural characterization of group 4-membrane bound hydrogenases (MBHs), which share an evolutionary link to respiratory complex I.
