Home Martin Beck – Molecular Sociology Projects Research Overview Members Projects Publications Martin Beck Department Projects Nuclear Pore Complexes We aim to understand how the architecture of the NPC enables nucleocytoplasmic exchange in conjunction with the regulation of gene expression. How Nuclear Pore Complexes Form in the First Stages of Life A reservoir of maternally provided NPCs in the ER enables nuclear divisions during early embryogenesis Integrative Structural Biology We are continuously developing novel methods towards integrative structural biology. Structural Proteomics We use methods such as cross-linking mass spectrometry, thermal protein profiling, quantitative proteomics and data mining to study the dynamics of protein complex architecture. Image Processing We aim to facilitate in situ structural analysis by developing novel algorithms for cryo electron tomography and subtomogram averaging.
