Home Molecular Sociology Research Projects Project Groups of the Department of Molecular Sociology (MS) Nuclear Pore Complexes We aim to understand how the architecture of the NPC enables nucleocytoplasmic exchange in conjunction with the regulation of gene expression. Drosophila Development We are interested in understanding how microtubule-dependent transport, mRNA localization and biomolecular condensation at membranes interplay during oogenesis. Integrative Structural Biology We are continuously developing novel methods towards integrative structural biology. Structural Proteomics We use methods such as cross-linking mass spectrometry, thermal protein profiling, quantitative proteomics and data mining to study the dynamics of protein complex architecture. Image Processing We aim to facilitate in situ structural analysis by developing novel algorithms for cryo electron tomography and subtomogram averaging.
