Kita Karios
Kita Kairos offers daycare in mixed-age groups for infants and children up to 6 or 7 years old. The Kita is located on Campus Riedberg, approximately a 10-minute walk from our Institute. It operates from 7:30 am to 5 pm and accommodates about 135 children, with 34 slots reserved for children of employees from the local Max Planck Institutes. If you are interested in one of these slots please contact the Personnel Department.
While children are assigned to different mixed-age groups, they interact with peers from other groups in various themed rooms where they can play music, do crafts, and exercise, among other activities. Additionally, there is a garden where children can play when the weather permits. The Kita also organizes weekly excursions to museums, playgrounds, and gardens.
All meals at Kita Kairos are freshly prepared by a professional chef. For more information please visit the website Kita Karos
Parent-child office
Our institute also offers the opportunity to bring children to work in case of care emergencies and provide short-term care in our parent-child room. The room has a workstation (PC and internet connection) and a spacious play area with toys and equipment and can be used for working while your child plays or sleeps. The room is also a retreat for breastfeeding, changing and feeding the baby and can be used by parents and children as a common break room or for bridging periods.
Infant subsidy
If your child is under one year old or you will become a parent soon, the infant-subsidy of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science e.V. offers support for various childcare options up to 400€/month. If you are interested in this program, you can apply through the human resource department.
